*An Opportunity to Bless and Be Blessed- has been provided for us through a church member who has taken on a family member with a young daughter and a newborn son. In the same way that this sister in the Lord opened her home to offer help and care, let’s open our hearts to show God’s love and concern by participating in a “Baby Shower of Blessing!” The needs are great, but our God is good…all the time! Would you join in helping to make a difference in these lives in need? We are looking for gently used or new items including boys clothing 4mos and larger. In addition, diapers size 14lbs plus along and Giant Eagle gift cards to help provide food and formula. We will set up a collection area in the basement and will be receiving items through October. Thanks in advance your prayers, partnership and participation in caring for one another in a practical and powerful way…just as Christ first loved us!
*LOVE I.N.C. COAT DRIVE- It’s that time of the year… Time to clean out those closets and donate your new or gently worn coats and jackets to Love In the Name of Christ. We are asking you to bring your coat to church during the first three Sundays of October. The coats will be picked up, cleaned, put on a hanger, hung in a plastic bag and given to the homeless and poor throughout Cuyahoga County. As you can imagine the need this year is great so help us reach out the hand of hope in a practical way as we extend Love In the Name of Christ
*The Friends Disaster Service– is the Emergency Relief Ministry of the EFC-ER and is designed to bring help, healing and hope to those recovering from natural disasters.
*EFC-ER Missions- theme is “Deepinging Our Roots; Focusing Our Faith!” Together with Friends around the world, we will be focusing on the global mission of preaching the Gospel and reaching others with the hope found only in Jesus Christ. Over the next several weeks, we will partner through prayer, special presentations, encouragement and financial commitment to help support the efforts of our EFC-ER/EFM missionaries in over 40 combined countries. This year’s 2013 Great Commission Budget is $1,500,389 and will help meet needs from Malone College to Mexico City. Please be in prayer as to how you might personally be involved in this far reaching ministry to help fulfill the Great Commission. (NOTE: 10% of all church giving goes to support missions throughout the year.)
*The City Mission- is our monthly outreach to the area’s homeless people and is held every third Sunday evening at the Crossroads City Mission (corner of 55th& Carnegie, Cleveland). Through you, our church family we are able to extend the love of Christ by providing a healthy meal and heartfelt worship in an effort to bring help and hope to those in need of uplifting their spirits. Would you consider providing a food item to help provide that meal? Would you consider participating in a time of praise and celebration? How about lending your hands to serve the meal? Or most importantly, folding your hands in prayer for the successful “inreach” of this outreach ministry? If you are interested in helping, please contact coordinators Dennis or Karen Cubic @ 440.479.7392 or 216.870.8402.

*The Friends Church participates in Challenger Division Baseball - a league designed for children ages 5-18 with special needs. The goal of the Challenger Division is to give every child a chance to play the game of baseball, regardless of physical or mental limitations. A “Buddy” system is used to assist participants. The games are noncompetitive and fun! Season runs May-July. For information about the league and volunteering opportunities, call Coach Andy Trautman @ 440-526-1919.
